Beyonce of the Beyhive dropped a surprising 40-track album of her 2018 Coachella performance titled Homecoming: The Live Album. The majority of the album comes straight from Bey’s two-hour performance at the desert festival, however, it’s a more direct version of the live show.
When Beyoncé spoke of her Coachella performance with Vogue for her September cover feature, she talked about the cultural significance of the moment. “I swear I felt pure joy shining down on us,” she said. “I know that most of the young people on the stage and in the audience did not know the history of the black national anthem before Coachella. But they understood the feeling it gave them. It was a celebration of all the people who sacrificed more than we could ever imagine, who moved the world forward so that it could welcome a woman of color to headline such a festival.”

Kanye West believes he is holding onto a bit of leverage as he takes his fight with record labels to the courtroom. Yeezy has reportedly filed a third lawsuit against Def Jam and is reportedly refusing to turn over his forthcoming Yandhi album until the litigation plays out in his favor.
As previously reported, news broke on Friday (Jan. 25) that ‘Ye had filed two lawsuits against Roc-A-Fella and EMI Publishing and was seeking royalties and his masters. On Saturday (Jan. 26), The Blast reported that Kanye and his legal team had filed another suit with Def Jam and Bravado merchandising.

The new lawsuit claims the companies are taking advantage of “one of the world’s most iconic, multi-faceted, and productive talents.” He is asking that a judge order he be “free and clear of obligations” to the label.
The lawsuit alleges, “Even if the contracts were not unfair (they are), even if their terms valued Mr. West’s contributions in line with the breathtaking success he has achieved for these companies (they do not) and even if the companies had not unpaid Mr. West what they owe him (they have), he would be entitled to be set free from its bonds.”
Kanye claims he will not turn over his Yandhi album for fear that it get shelved due to the politics of the suit.
XXL has reached out to Kanye’s team for a comment.

Kanye West is denying reports of a third and singular lawsuit with Def Jam Recordings and is also calling claims that he is refusing to turn over his Yandhi album false.
In a statement to XXL, a rep for Kanye reports, “The Blast article has the unredacted complaint but it’s not a new lawsuit. It’s the unredacted version of the previous filing. Also there’s another inaccurate portion about him holding up the ninth album. That’s not in the complaint and untrue.”
